Built for year ten

Anything looks good the week it is finished. What separates a yard that still looks right a decade later is almost entirely in the parts you stop being able to see the day the job is done.

Built for year ten

The parts of a job you cannot see are the parts that decide it. Base compacted in lifts or dumped in one go. Steel chaired up inside a slab or lying on the dirt where it does nothing. Where the water is meant to run, worked out before a single form goes in. None of that shows on handover day. All of it shows in year five.

So we build to numbers rather than to a look. Base depth for the loading the surface will actually take. Joint spacing that steers where a slab cracks instead of leaving it to chance. Irrigation zoned by how fast each area really takes water, not by what was convenient to wire. Those numbers go in your estimate in writing, which means you can hold us to them — and compare us honestly against a quote that never mentions them.

A yard is one system, not a list of separate purchases. Where water leaves the patio decides whether the lawn beside it drowns. What sits under the pavers decides whether the wall next to them stays plumb. Sod laid before the irrigation is tested is sod on a clock. We would rather scope the whole thing and get the joins right than build a good patio next to a bad drain.

And we will tell you when something is a bad idea — including when the honest answer is a smaller job than the one you asked for, or the same job done later for a better reason. That costs us work sometimes. It is still the right call, and it is the part of this we would not trade.

Stone steps and a cut-in lawn running down to a pool deck
Steps, lawn, and pool deck on one job. The hard part is where they meet.
  • Built to a spec

Base depths, joint spacing, and zone rates are named in your estimate, not left vague. Numbers you can hold us to.

  • We fix the cause

When a lawn keeps dying or pavers keep sinking, we find out why first. Redoing the same work over the same problem is not a repair.

  • The price is in writing

Every quote is itemized before work begins. The number you approve is the number you pay.

  • Nothing is done until you say so

Every job ends with a walkthrough together. If something is not right, we fix it before we call it finished.
